Therapy for Anxiety

Your mind races ahead and braces for the worst-case scenario. It predicts everything that could go wrong and tries to stay one step ahead with endless plans to avoid a negative outcome. Then it turns backward—replaying conversations, questioning decisions, and criticizing what you “should have” done differently. Dread, tension, and nervousness can make it nearly impossible to slow down, rest, or simply be.

When left unchecked, anxiety can leave life feeling overwhelming—and small. Avoidance brings relief in the moment, but keeps you from opportunities and experiences you might otherwise enjoy. Sometimes you push yourself to “just do it anyway,” hoping exposure alone will make it easier, only to feel flooded and more reluctant next time. Reassurance-seeking may help for a while, but it’s never quite enough and can strain relationships. Perfectionism and control become strategies to stay safe, but they eventually collapse under their own pressure, leaving you exhausted from the constant effort.

The truth is, you can’t outthink anxiety. No matter how much planning or analyzing we do, uncertainty is part of being human.

Even the best coping tools only reach so far when your mind and body are stuck in high alert. While skills can help you manage symptoms, much of what keeps anxiety looping lives beneath the surface.

In therapy, we’ll gently explore the deeper layers of your anxiety. Together, we’ll listen to what your nervous system has been trying to protect you from, understand the meaning behind your symptoms, and differentiate your truest inner voice from anxiety’s relentless pull. Over time, this creates space for a steadier, more grounded, and more peaceful way of being—one that allows you to move through life with greater ease, trust, and self-compassion.
