Therapy for Anxiety

Your mind races ahead and braces for the worst-case scenario. It predicts everything that could go wrong and tries to stay one step ahead with endless plans to avoid a negative outcome. Then it obsesses over the past—replaying conversations, questioning decisions, and criticizing what you “should" have done differently. Dread, tension, and nervousness can make it nearly impossible to slow down, rest, or simply be.

When left unchecked, anxiety tends to leave you feeling overwhelmed — and your world feeling small. Avoidance brings relief in the moment, but keeps you from opportunities and experiences you might otherwise enjoy. Sometimes you discover that it “wasn’t that bad” by diving headfirst into the fear and trying to push the worrisome thoughts aside, but this strategy can also leave you flooded and more reluctant to step out in the future. Reassurance-seeking may help for a while, but it’s never quite enough and can strain relationships. Perfectionism and control become strategies to stay safe, but they eventually collapse under their own pressure, leaving you exhausted from the constant effort.

The truth is, you can’t out think anxiety. No matter how much planning or analyzing we do, uncertainty is part of being human.

Even the best coping tools only reach so far when your mind and body are stuck in high alert. While skills can help you manage symptoms, much of what keeps anxiety looping lives beneath the surface.

In therapy, we’ll gently explore the deeper layers of your anxiety. Together, we’ll listen for what your nervous system has been trying to protect you from, make sense of the meaning behind your symptoms, and begin to discern your inner wisdom from anxiety’s pull. This work helps you care for yourself in ways that quiet your anxious mind, navigate stepping out of your comfort zone with greater confidence, and discover a deeper sense of peace that allows you to engage in life more fully.

I support individuals navigating anxiety that may include experiences such as:

  • Generalized anxiety
  • Social anxiety
  • Panic attacks and panic disorder
  • Health anxiety
  • Obsessive worry and mental loops
  • Difficulty making decisions, second-guessing yourself, or fear of making the “wrong” choice
  • Perfectionism and high-functioning anxiety
  • Control patterns, rigidity, or difficulty tolerating uncertainty
  • Trauma-related anxiety
  • Food, eating, or body image–related anxiety
  • Chronic overwhelm, masking, or nervous system burnout

Whether your experience aligns with a formal diagnosis or simply feels like living with constant tension, overthinking, or an always-on nervous system, anxiety is not something you have to navigate alone. With steady, compassionate support, it can begin to loosen its hold — allowing you to move through life with more confidence and ease.
